Successful completion of the “Thomas International Middle East – Third Annual Conference” held at the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. 12th February 2014

Thomas Middle East, representative of Thomas International UK, a global leader in Human Resources Assessment and Development services, announces the end of its “ Thomas International Middle East – 3rd Annual Conference” held at the Riyadh Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Mr. Mosfer Al Wadee – Consulting Manager, Prime HR Solutions, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, initiated the event with a welcoming speech, introducing the central theme, ‘Improving HR Management by using Assessment tools’. He stated that the utilization of HR assessment tools has helped numerous organizations worldwide in improving their recruitment, performance management, training, development, and employee retention processes, and is therefore becoming an accepted phenomenon in Middle Eastern organizations as well, aiding in revolutionizing the way employers Recruit, Retain, Manage and Develop.

To further explore the improvements brought about by the application of HR assessment tools in various stages of the talent life cycle, three distinguished speakers were introduced, namely, Mr. Rod Cornwell - International Managing Director, Thomas assessment services in the UK; Dr. Abdulaziz Ismail – Executive director of Tmkeen Co, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Mr. Michael Mamish – Executive Director of Ernst & Young, KSA. Mr. Rod Cornwell embarked his discussion by indicating the various stages an organization has to work through, in order to employ quality workforce. He further sheds light on the effectiveness of HR assessment tools and how these tools assist to improve the recruitment and performances management processes, starting with the attraction & selection of candidates, short listing of candidates, effective interviewing, talent management, and the development of Manager’s skills.

Dr. Abdulaziz Ismail also acknowledged the significant improvement involved in the areas of training and development with the utilization of HR assessment tools. His discussion highlighted the stages of training and development commencing with appraisals, annual reviews, and team development. He also touched upon the bottom line results i.e. training return on investments (ROI).

Mr. Michael Mamish, was in conformity with his contemporaries, in regards to the improvements seen in the processes of recruitment, performance management, training and development. Furthermore, he added that the utilization of HR assessment tools also aided in employee retention, ranging from employee motivation, to conflict management and that of reengineering.

The second session of the conference commenced with the introduction of three eminent orators, in a panel discussion with Mr. Amir El Assaad – General Manager for Human Dimensions, as the moderator. Mr. Rod Cornwell, was reintroduced as one of the panel speakers along with Mr. Abdulrahman Al Nashmi – Human Resources Group Manager, SHARACO & Mr. Mohammed Al Muhaisen – Head of Recruitment at Al Rajhi Bank.

The orators expressed satisfaction in the use of HR Assessment tools, and provided positive feedback on the ease and effectiveness of reports provided, while demonstrating how their organizations have benefitted from HR assessment tools in the areas of Recruitment, Retaining, Development and Management.
